Examining the radical kindness and covenant love David extends to the line of Saul, we see a picture of how God’s grace operates in our own lives. Though Mephibosheth had no claim or standing at the royal table, David proactively sought him out, restored his inheritance, and invited him to dine at the king’s table continuously. This sermon reminds us that despite our spiritual brokenness and shortcomings, God extends an invitation for us to take a seat at His table through His steadfast love and grace.
